When I got up this morning to prepare for my walk it was pouring with rain. Checking the forecast it looked as if that rain was due to continue for some while. So I took the decision not to go for the walk. But by the time I done my physio it had dried sufficiently for me to do tai chi in the garden. Then later in the morning I did a yoga session. So I may not have had a cardio workout but I have exercised today. Hopefully I'll get a walk tomorrow.
I'm worried about cats. Because of the decrease in traffic they seem to be getting bolder about negotiating the roads. If the traffic returns to 'normal' how will the feline population cope?
It seems that the infection rate is rising again. I read - 'for England was between 0.7 and 1, while it remained between 0.7 and 0.9 for the UK as a whole.' I'm not surprised. It's a couple of weeks since people returned to work using public transport and a week since we could meet outside in groups of up to 6 so it's not rocket science?
I sometimes chat on the phone with my sister-in-law's mother. She was very, very kind to me when my mum died. She wrote me a lovely letter full of understanding and compassion. We gave Mum's car to her and her husband. He has sadly died since. She's lost without him. She is 95, bless her heart and I'm just amazed at how on the ball she is. She can't see and I think she struggles with arthritis, diabetes and various other health conditions but her mind is as sharp as ever. And she is very aware of what's going on with coronavirus. She has a wry sense of humour which always makes me chuckle. I'd love to see her again. She lives in Hampshire though in an out of the way place and it's not easy to get to.
I'm still very sad about my friend but I did chat to her today. She is trying to be very positive about her situation. She's gonna take one day at a time. I do admire her.
The weather definitely impacts on peoples' behaviour. There is less traffic, less people about in this rain and wind. I do see few schoolchildren about now. I do wonder how that's all going. I haven't seen an update because it's only this week that they've gone back. That's only limited numbers.
Dentists are due to open on the 8th of June. But I don't see how that's possible. I don't see how they can prepare in such a short time. Will be interesting though because I have my dental appointment on July 20. I don't know whether they will honour the existing appointments or move everybody about. I would imagine they won't see as many people as they might normally because of the regimes they have to put in place. I think I need a filling to be honest. I won't say I'm keen to go, I would say I need to go. I was going to say I think I'll wear a face mask but don't think that will go down well. 😉
Keeping a diary during this 'lockdown' period due to the coronavirus.
